Site investigations are necessary to ensure the safety of everyone on your site, in line with health and safety regulations. They can also help to resolve potential problems early on, preventing costly delays and expensive unforeseen maintenance.

Through continuous use and environmental conditions, gas piping can become compromised over time and can be extremely dangerous if not monitored. That’s where our site investigations come in.

Before we commence any work, we’ll draw up a plan of all of the pipework onsite in accordance with the Institute of Gas Engineering Managers UP/2 standard.

All of our engineers are Gas Safe Registered and GIRS certified, meaning you’ll benefit from extensive knowledge and experience of gasworks.

What is a site investigation?

A site investigation involves an engineer coming to your site to collect information regarding potential hazards that are found before performing any work. Part of the investigation is to assess ground conditions as well as to minimise the impact on the environment when the work is performed.

We hold licences to the metering databases which we use to locate and obtain the correct information. This enables us to inform you of all of the utilities and meters currently active or inactive on your site. We can then provide fast quotations to customers who require our services to disconnect meters.

How we adhere to all suggested practice

We follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure that disruption on your site is kept to a minimum. When we carry out site investigations, we check everything, including the piping that runs from your boiler to your meter.

To prevent any further disturbance, we will provide you with all of the necessary information so your piping conforms to the associated regulations. We will also give you a copy of our report for your records.

Your site will also be tested for leaks, isolation regulators, the state of any repairs and the piping. It may be necessary for us to take photographic evidence. All of our engineers are Gas Safe Registered and will make the process as simple as possible.
