EV charger installation FAQs
Is your electricity supply ready for an EV charger?
Most properties can handle a 7kW charger, but we always recommend checking your electrical capacity beforehand. If your supply needs upgrading, we’ll provide a full quotation and take care of the work – ensuring your home or business is fully prepared.
How much does an EV installation cost?
Prices vary depending on a number of factors including the charger type, complexity of the installation and any additional work required (such as a supply upgrade). We can provide a quick and no obligation quote for your desired EV installation – just call 0330 123 2255.
What’s the difference between a tethered and untethered cable?
A tethered cable is permanently attached to your EV charging unit. It works much like a petrol pump – you simply uncoil the cable and plug it into your vehicle. An untethered cable (sometimes called a “socketed charger”) means the cable is separate from the charging unit. You plug your own charging lead into the unit each time.
